Shred & E-Recycling Day
The Town of Burgaw is proud to once
again join the North Carolina Spring
Litter Sweep, April 11-25!
As always, we encourage residents, business owners, and
visitors to help keep our town clean and tidy —whether by
maintaining your property, properly disposing of waste, or
helping keep litter off our streets and public spaces. We truly
appreciate your continued efforts to care for our community.
Looking to make an even greater impact? Consider joining Town
staff during the week of April 20–24 for hands -on community
cleanup projects and be part of keeping our town looking its
best! This is a great opportunity to volunteer, earn community
service hours, and show love to your community —whether you
can spend an hour with us or a couple of days, your dedication
is truly appreciated.
For more information on volunteering during the week of April
20-24, please reach out to our Parks, Recreation & Tourism
Department at 910 -661-3101 or by email
at recreation@burgawnc.gov.

From historic

Burgaw’s story
The Town of Burgaw Public Services Department
has transitioned to a new pickup schedule for yard debris,
white goods and construction and demolition (C&D):
• Yard Debris Pickup will occur on Mondays and Fridays
• White Goods/C&D Pickup will occur on Wednesdays (aligned
with regular garbage collection)
Important reminders!
• Black lawn/plastic bags with leaves/pine needles will be
picked up Wednesdays with white goods
• Compostable/paper bags with leaves/pine needles will be
picked up Mondays & Fridays with yard debris
Why the difference?
Plastic bags are not compostable and cannot be processed with
yard debris. To prevent contamination and ensure proper disposal,
these types of bags must be collected separately, which is why our
crews will collect them along with white goods/C&D.
Compostable and paper bags can be safely processed with yard
debris, allowing them to be collected on yard debris days - We
encourage residents to make the switch and help us keep Burgaw
clean and green!
We appreciate everyone ’s patience as we work to
better serve our community.

Local officials encourage all eligible businesses to attend and take advantage of this free
training opportunity. By staying informed and proactive, business owners and staff play a
vital role in supporting public safety and maintaining a responsible community
environment.
