The Parks Foundation of Burgaw is excited for the upcoming Annual Mayor ’s Gala,
taking place on Saturday, March 14 th, 2026, from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Historic
Burgaw Train Depot.
The Mayor ’s Gala will bring together community members, local businesses, civic
leaders, and supporters to honor Mayor Dawson's accomplishments and reflect on the
Town’s growth and success. The evening will feature an elegant dinner, live
entertainment, and a keynote speech by the mayor. A highlight of the evening will be
the presentation of Mayor Dawson’s Organization/Business of the Year Award to GAF
Roofing, in recognition of their generous recent donations supporting the community
splash pad project.
The evening will be hosted by Jeff Rivenbark, a Burgaw, North Carolina native and
familiar face from WWAY-TV in Wilmington, NC. The title sponsor for the 2026 Mayor ’s
Gala is Duke Energy, whose continued support helps make this important community
event possible.
The Mayor ’s Gala is designed to raise awareness about the many exciting things
happening in Burgaw while also serving as a major fundraiser for the Burgaw Parks
Foundation, whose current focus is raising funds to construct a community splash pad
that will benefit families for generations to come.
“The Mayor’s Gala is incredibly important to our Foundation, ” said Sydney Lewis, Chair
of the Burgaw Parks Foundation. “It allows us to bring the community together to
celebrate all that makes Burgaw special while also raising critical funds for projects like
the community splash pad. This event represents growth, pride, and investment in
Burgaw’s future.”
Community members, businesses, and organizations are encouraged to attend and
support this memorable evening dedicated to celebrating Burgaw and investing in its
future. Tickets are $100 per person and include dinner, drinks, a live DJ, a silent
auction, awards, and guest speakers.
Tickets and sponsorship opportunities can be found at www.burgawparks.com/mayors-
gala, by contacting the office of the Parks Foundation on (910) 300-9011, or by emailing
info@burgawparks.com.
