UPCOMING
The Town of Burgaw is partnering with Ardurra to create a
Comprehensive Storm Water Master Plan. This important
project will identify storm water needs throughout the town,
evaluate the current drainage system, and develop a Capital
Improvement Plan (CIP) to guide upgrades and improvements
over time.
As part of this effort, Ardurra has held a public input meeting
and met in person with town staff to discuss key concerns and
priority areas. However, gathering additional information
directly from our residents and businesses is still essential to
creating a plan that meets the needs of the entire community.
To gather your input, an online survey has been created. Your
feedback will help identify problem areas, capture local
experiences, and ensure the plan addresses real-world concerns.
Whether you ’ve noticed drainage issues, flooding spots, or
simply want to share your perspective, your participation will
make a difference.

Mayor Olivia Dawson
MA YOR’S PROCLA MAT ION
CONSTITUTION WEEK 2025
WHEREAS: The Constitution of the United States of America, the guardian of our liberties, embodies the
principles of limited government in a Republic dedicated to rule by law; and
WHEREAS: September 17, 2025, marks the two hundred thirty -eighth anniversary of the framing of the
Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention; and
WHEREAS: It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition to this magnificent document and its memorable
anniversary, and to the patriotic celebrations which will commemorate it; and
WHEREAS: Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation each year by the President of the United
States of America designating September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week,
NOW, THEREFORE I, Olivia Dawson, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the Town of Burgaw
do hereby proclaim the week of September 17 through 23 as CONSTITUTION WEEK and ask our citizens to
reaffirm the ideals the Framers of the Constitution had in 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed to
us through this guardian of our liberties.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF , I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the Town of Burgaw, North
Carolina to be affixed this 8th day of September in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty-five.
Important reminders from our Public Works Department
The Town of Burgaw would like to remind residents
that, per the Town’s Code of Ordinances, placing trash,
debris, garbage, or litter in the street or public road
without permission is prohibited. All trash, debris, etc.,
should be placed in a proper location and/or in proper
containers. This includes yard waste placed in or on
streets and sidewalks. Yard waste placed in or on
streets and sidewalks not only poses a safety risk for
vehicles and pedestrians, but it also leads to clogged
storm drains and ditches when it is washed or blown
into these during storm incidents. This can contribute
to serious flooding issues around Town. The Town
requests that all yard debris be placed properly behind
the curb on the right-of-way off of the sidewalk and
out of the street. Also, it is against town code to blow
grass clippings into the street.
IMPORTANT!
DO NOT
blow grass
clippings into
the street!
This is a violation
against the Town
of Burgaw Code
of Ordinances.
We thank you for your continued cooperation.
