Mayor Dawson has been chosen to serve as
vice president of the N.C. Mayors Association
for the next year.
Dawson’s selection was announced during the
organization’s annual business meeting as a
part of the N.C. League of Municipalities ’
CityVision annual conference held in Greenville
recently.
“It’s an honor to be named Vice President of
the N.C. Mayors Association Board of
Directors,” said Mayor Dawson. “I look
forward to working alongside fellow mayors from across our great
state to strengthen our organization, communities, advocate for
local leadership, and shape policies that make a lasting impact on
the future of North Carolina.”
In addition to Dawson ’s selection, Broadway Mayor Donald Andrews
was chosen as NCMA President. He replaces Parmele Mayor Jerry
McCrary in the position. A new member selected to the Board of
Directors is Granite Quarry Mayor Brittany Barnhardt.
At the annual meeting, Andrews noted the importance of the
involvement of mayors from across the state in the organization,
emphasizing how collaboration can lead to idea -sharing that has real
benefits for cities, towns and their residents.
“By working together, we can ensure that the unique needs and
priorities of our cities and towns are heard and addressed at every
level of government. The friendships and collaboration formed here
are the foundation for innovative solutions and collective progress, ”
Andrews said.
N.C. Mayors Association is an affiliate organization of the North
Carolina League of Municipalities formed specifically to offer
opportunities for mayors across the state to network, improve the
understanding of municipal government, and work to make their
communities better together.

This week, the Town of Burgaw proudly
joins the nation in honoring the service
and sacrifice of law enforcement officers
across the country—and especially the
dedicated men and women who serve
right here in Burgaw.
To our officers: thank you for your
unwavering commitment to keeping our
community safe. Your courage, integrity,
and hard work do not go unnoticed.
We also pause to remember those who
