The Town of Burgaw was awarded a $55,000
grant from NCDEQ through the Resilient Coastal
Communities Program (RCCP) to design a rain
garden in town. This project was identified in the
Resilient Burgaw strategy as a priority for the
Town to help with localized flooding and to
enhance natural community spaces.
Please join us at Town Center on Wednesday,
March 12th from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM for a presentation from
Kleinfelder, Inc. about the initial design and look of the rain garden.

PLANNING BOARD
NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD
The following items will be heard for consideration at the
Town of Burgaw Planning Board Meeting on March 20,
2025 beginning at 5:30 PM at the Burgaw Town Center, 108
E. Wilmington Street, Burgaw. All interested parties are
invited to attend. Written and oral comments welcome.
Item 1: Consideration of a Wellhead Protection Overlay to the
proposed new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO), by
Planning Staff to review as part of the UDO rewrite process.

Item 2: Consideration of a conditional zoning request for a bar,
cocktail lounge, and/or nightclub use in the B -1, Central
Business District, located at 107 W. Courthouse Ave.(3229 -32-
0848-0000). The request would permit this use to occupy the

getting started. Always contact the Burgaw Planning
Department to get the permits you need before starting work.

Join us for our annual Arbor
Day Tree Planting
Ceremony and Giveaway!
This year's Arbor Day in
North Carolina will be
celebrated on March 21st.
The Tree Planting
Ceremony will be held at
Burgaw Middle School next
to the gymnasium at 10:00
am on March 21st. This
event is open to the public;
no residency requirements.
The Tree Giveaway will take
place at the Burgaw Town
Center, located at 108 E.
Wilmington Street on
March 21st between 4-6
PM. Choice of tree will be a
1-gallon Sky Pencil Holly or
a 1-gallon Catawba Crape
Myrtle. To claim a free tree,
you must be a resident of
the corporate limits of
Burgaw and register online
at burgawnc.gov/register.

Celebrate
Be sure to grab your friends and come to the Burgaw
Town Center on Fridays between 10am-12pm for a
fun time of coffee and games! This is a perfect time
for senior citizens to relax, chat, play games and
enjoy some free coffee. This activity is open to
seniors ages 55+ free of charge. We will have game
time every Friday morning from 10:00 AM to 12:00
PM at the Burgaw Town Center, located at 108 E.
Wilmington Street. No need to register– just drop in!
