Happy New Year to Our Fire Department Family and Community!
As we step into 2025, it ’s a perfect time to reflect on the growth and accomplishments of the
past year, which has been marked by significant change and progress for our fire department.
2024 brought many exciting developments for us. We are thrilled to welcome a new Fire Chief
and a full -time Fire Marshal to our leadership team. Additionally, our department has grown
with the addition of several new members to both our Full -Time and Part-Time rosters, further
strengthening our ability to serve and protect the community.
It was a busy year for our department, and we are proud to share the following milestones
from 2024:
• We responded to a total of 869 emergency calls.
• Our team dedicated 4,241.4 hours to training, ensuring that we are always prepared for any situation.
• We had the honor of attending and hosting over 70 events, which allowed us to engage with and educate the
public.
• Our outreach efforts reached over 9,000 individuals across various events and initiatives.
As we begin 2025, we are already off to a fast start. Since January 1st, we have already responded
to 25 calls, showcasing our ongoing commitment to serving our community at any moment.
However, it ’s important to acknowledge the weather conditions we are currently facing. The
colder temperatures and dry conditions have led to multiple brush fires that have escalated due
to dry fuels. We strongly urge everyone to exercise caution when engaging in any outdoor burning
activities. If possible, we encourage you to delay burning until conditions improve.
Additionally, please remember that there is no burning permitted within town limits, as debris
pickup services are provided to help maintain cleanliness and safety in the area.
As winter weather sets in, please take extra precautions to stay both warm and safe. When using space heaters, always
remember to turn them off before leaving a room unattended or going to sleep. Additionally, never use stoves or ovens as
a primary heating source, as they present significant fire hazards.
Let’s work together to ensure a safe and prosperous 2025 for everyone in our community. We are grateful for your
continued support, and we look forward to
another year of service, growth, and
collaboration.
Until Next Week,
Your Burgaw Fire Department
