Our T own
The Town of Burgaw is a sponsor of this event.
The weather is getting warmer and pools are popping up all over town. Be sure to contact
us before you start filling your swimming pool. Each year, we like to remind our residents
that an adjustment can be made to the sewer portion of their
utility bill when filling a pool – only if accurate meter readings are
on file! So, before you turn the water on, call us so we can obtain
an accurate reading before and after filling your pool. For
questions regarding pool fills, please contact our Customer Service
Representative at 663-3445.

We are so excited to see everyone this Saturday, make sure to come by and interact with us. We will have our
booth and truck set up.
Not only is May 4th, Springfest but it is also International Firefighter’s Day (IFFD).
This is a special day for us as it gives us the day to reflect, recognize, and honor those for their sacrifices made as
a firefighter to protect their communities. To honor those who have given the ultimate sacrifice in the line of
duty and remember those who continue to serve.
The date, May 4th, was chose for International Firefighters’ Day due to its link to the feast day of St. Florian. Saint
Florian is known as the patron saint of all firefighters and was the first known commander of one firefighting
squad in the Roman Empire. For more information on International Firefighters ’ Day please visit https://
www.firefightersday.org.
We are very fortunate to recognize all of our volunteers, part time, and full -time staff who make countless
sacrifices to serve our community.
The time they spend away from their families, and daily lives to dedicate their time to serving our community is
immense. These responders know that any moment the ultimate sacrifice could be made but are still unwavering
in our dedication.
As a department, we extend our gratitude to all firefighter’s past, present, and future for your service.
We hope everyone has a safe weekend, and we will see you next week!
